NELLY - An afternoon with Nell Gwynne
A one-woman folk musical - a work-in-progress.
Saturday 3rd July, 16.50 - 18.10
Number 28, Belper
Nell Gwynne is the classic rags-to-riches story of a woman born into poverty who ended up being the most famous woman of her day. An orange-seller at the theatre, she became its leading comedy actress and then mistress to King Charles II. And she was funny. And how. Samuel Pepys called her “pretty witty Nell”. It’s said the whole world knows Nell Gwynne. Our play tries to show you why. Come and see how we’re getting on!
Words by Graham Hopkins; Songs by Jo Freya; Robb Johnson; Reg Meuross; Lucy Ward; Boff Whalley; and Dave Wilson. Robb Johnson, Winter Wilson and Lucy Ward will be performing their songs live in Belper.

Benny Shakes brings his popular online podcast to Belper, for a very special live edition of "Below the Belt with Benny Shakes": a game show that has comedians trying to perform ordinary tasks with handicapping obstacles to show the challenges faced by those living with disabilities as we laugh at their fumbling.

Saturday 3rd July, 20.00 - 20.50

John Morris, who also hosts the task-based panel show Larklord, brings you a witty set of satire and observations, while NCF New Act of the Year 2019 Finalist, Kitty Messalina, talks promiscuity, prejudice and polyamory.

Number 28 Belper
A spoken word performance from Rob Stamper, introduced by Paul Broesmith from The Lost Boys.
Rob is a comedic performance poet and performs anywhere where people will not throw things. As well as supporting Les Barker and Elvis McGonagall, Rob launched his first book outside a hardware shop and his third in a chip shop. Just because he could. The world is indeed, his chip pan!
In this amazing new show Rob will take you on a journey where the humble chip meets meteorology, seaside resorts, tourism, beer, Englishmen, fine dining and aliens, with a wassock or two thrown in on the way.
No chips will be harmed during the performance, but the truth could be battered.
AWKWARD QUESTION TIME
