The theme is pirates, so come prepared for some swashbuckling as we celebrate the thriving Derby arts, with performances from both established artists and emerging talent. Arts Council England boost We are delighted to announce we have been awarded our first Grants for the Arts Award from Arts Council England. This grant will support this year’s summer festival, taking place across the Cathedral Quarter, Derby on Saturday 17th June from 11am till 4pm. Eileen Wright from Furthest from the Sea CIC said “We are overjoyed to get the support of the Arts Council, which only reflects the developing recognition of the vibrant and varied Derbyshire arts scene and our role within it.”
Derby Comedy Festival 2017 We were proud to be leading the programming of Derby Comedy Festival, held in venues across the city between 4 - 15th May. A big shout out to all our performers, participants and audiences for playing their part in exercising Derby's chuckle muscle!	The Cathedral Quarter Wins!! We are thrilled with the news that our good friends in the Cathedral Quarter, Derby have been named as Winners of the Great British High Street of the Year award. We have worked closely with the Cathedral Quarter on many events in 2016 are proud to be associated with such great partners, championing our city.	Budding Artists! Knickerbocker Glorious CQ Saturdays Knickerbocker Glorious returns to the Market Place in the Cathedral Quarter on the third Saturday of each month. Furthest from the Sea hosts Derby's premier outdoor variety showcase featuring music, dance, comedy, poetry, theatre and spoken word artists from Derbyshire and beyond! 11am - 3pm.
