The Theatre Stage returns to this year's Furthest From The Sea Festival, after its debut last year. Situated in The Clubrooms at The Guildhall Theatre, a new 60 seat Derby Live studio space.

Tutu 4 U - £3.50, Market Place, 20 mins - 1 hour
Come to this drop in workshop and make a tutu, bussle, neck ruffle or headdress with a simple, no sewing technique! Brendan and Elizabeth will be on hand to demonstrate and teach you how to create and make your incredible garment to wear around the Festival! Lego and Loom Bands - Free, Market Place
For kids up to age 12 (and a hleping hand from family/friends) have fun playing and creating with Lego and Loom Bands!
Introduction to Creative Writing - Free, Quad, 1pm
This free, 45-minute session will give you guidance on what makes a great story and see you developing your own plot, including creating a character from scratch to be a part of it! The ideal session for anyone with an interest in getting their own writing started or kick-started. If you enjoy this session, why not consider one of QUAD's full courses this Autumn with tutor Alex Davis?
Getting Your Work Published - Free, Quad, 2pm
This session is loaded with practical advice and useful exercises for anyone currently writing and looking to get their work out there. With a look at the world of literary agents, small presses and literary magazines, this 45-minute taster is a great way to give yourself the edge when it comes to submitting your work.
Introduction to Science Fiction Writing - Free, Quad, 3pm
Struck on Star Trek? Batty about Battlestar? All about Avatar? Then why not join us for this 45-minute introduction to writing science-fiction, with a look at how to build your setting and the stories you might set within it.
